Johnny Depp Injured While Filming Pirates Of The Carribean 5; Injury Happened Days After Fake Pirate Invaded The Set
Johnny Depp is currently flying back to the US from Australia after his hand got injured while staying at Queensland, Australia for the filming of Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
The report, which first came out from The Wrap, said that the 51-year old actor got the injury outside the film and production time. Further, the publication said that the incident will have a minimal effect on the overall production.
Depp's injury is not the first unfortunate event that happened in the filming of the latest Pirates film. E!Online said that an intruder dressed in a pirate costume invaded the set and allegedly pulled a knife on the security personnel on guard in the production premises.
The local police described the unknown intruder as wearing a pirate suite with a parrot sitting on his shoulder that is likened to Captain Jack Sparrow played by Johnny Depp in the movie.
Filmmakers of the Pirates 5 were also threatened on January, as Cyclone Marcia (a category 5 tornado) visited the Queensland coast. However, the movie production was not affected as it is located in the Gold Coast studio, said to be at least 700 kilometres south from the cyclone's target.
The Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is said to be the largest production made in Queensland with its $250 Million production cost.
Johnny Depp will star alongside with other casts Javier Bardem as the villainous Captain Salazar, Geoffrey Rush coming back as Captain Barbossa, and Brenton Thwaites as a young British soldier.
Directors Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning are working together with producer Jerry Bruckheimer of the Jerry Bruckheimer Productions and Disney Studios.
It is slated to be released on July 7, 2017.
