Android 5.1 Update for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10: Update Rumored To Roll Out This Week
Android 5.1 update for Nexus devices starting with the N7 (probably 2013) will start rolling this week, according to latest rumors.
Android 5.1, internally known as Lollipop MR1, will make Android buttery smooth again.
"This release is supposed to make Android buttery smooth again, which is something you may have already spotted from videos of Android One devices running it. You're going to want to install it," Artem Russakovskii of Android Police shared on Google+.
In the post it was noted that Google's been having some issues with battery life, which explains the delay.
According to Android Geeks, the Android 5.1 update will only be a maintenance update. "The update will be mostly about fixing bugs and bringing a some interface tweaks here and there. Without a doubt, all the Nexus terminals that got updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop will also get Android 5.1 support: Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013), Nexus 9, and Nexus 10," the online publication noted.
Realty Today, another online publication, reported that it had spotted Nexus devices with 5.1 Lollipop update and the OS testing was seen in Asian countries like Indonesia and the Philippines.
Relatedly, in addition to the Nexus 5, Myce also published a new article indicating that a Nexus 4 and a Nexus 6 have been seen running on the Android 5.1 OS.
