A group of New York-based doctors have published their findings involving Zika symptoms they have observed in a patient. Knowing what to look for is important as the approaching mosquito season may lead to a sudden upsurge of Zika outbreaks across the United States.
A pregnant Connecticut teen has been recently tested positive Zika virus. The dreaded mosquito-borne virus responsible for birth defects among babies including microcephaly- a condition characterized by an infant’s unusually small heads- that swept much of Latin America and the Caribbean in recent months.
Four babies born with microcephaly, a condition that causes abnormal birth with small heads - are linked to the Zika virus. The Health Ministry in Panama confirmed on Wednesday about it and also reported that the 4 cases were part of the total 264 cases of the mosquito-borne infection in the country.
As we all know by now that Zika virus infection is linked to mosquito bites, people have become more cautious of mosquito bites to prevent Zika infection.
