A post-Pluto flyby carried out by NASA-funded New Horizons mission on a Kuiper Belt object (KBO) known as 1994 JR1 debunked earlier theory of the ex-ninth planet’s quasi-satellite. Expanding missions on KBOs in the fringes of the solar system could well explain our cosmic origins.
The new target of New Horizons is a Pluto-like planet in the outer solar system.
