NASA's Curiosity Rover Finds Signs Of Volcanic Activity On Mars

By Dipannita - Jun 14, 2016 02:29 PM EDT

NASA's Curiosity rover has been doing a great job ever since it landed on the surface of the red planet. The rover has now discovered evidence of volcanic activity on the surface of planet Mars.

NASA Satellite sports 39 unreported sources of Air Pollution

By Ajay Kadkol - Jun 06, 2016 08:52 PM EDT

Using a new satellite-based method, NASA scientists have located 39 unreported and major human-made sources of toxic sulphur dioxide emissions. The unreported emission sources, found in the analysis of satellite data from 2005 to 2014, are clusters of coal-burning power plants, smelters, oil and gas operations found notably in the Middle East, but also in Mexico and parts of Russia. In addition, reported emissions from known sources in these regions were — in some cases — two to three times lower than satellite-based estimates.

Pluto's Surface Is Covered With Nitrogen Ice That Flows Like Sea

By Dipannita - Jun 03, 2016 09:45 AM EDT

NASA's New Horizons probe took almost 10 years to reach the former ninth planet of the solar system, Pluto. When the researchers finally looked at the surface of the dwarf planet, they were left surprised as the reality turned out to be majorly different from what was initially expected.

New Horizons Released Never-Seen-Before Surface Images of Pluto

By Jenn Loro - Jun 01, 2016 08:42 AM EDT

NASA has released to the public stunning pictures of Pluto captured by the New Horizons spaceprobe intended to observe the ex-ninth planet and its surrounding moons. The space mission’s foray into the fringes of the solar system also hopes to study the Kuiper Belt Objects (KBOs) that may help explain the origins of the solar system.

Here's What the New Horizons Trip Found Beyond Pluto

By Jenn Loro - May 28, 2016 09:33 AM EDT

The New Horizons space mission has recently stumbled upon interesting discoveries beyond Pluto along the fringes of the solar system, the so-called Kuiper Belt Objects (KBOs). After discovering the KBO named 1994 JR1, the scientists are setting their sights to another one called 2014 MU69 which would help explain the cosmic origins of our sun-centered planetary system.

Scientists Finally Decode Arctic And Antarctic Sea Ice Change Mystery

By Dipannita - May 27, 2016 09:48 AM EDT

A collaboration between NASA and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has finally revealed why there is a difference between the sea ice change of Arctic and Antarctic.

Why The Antarctic Sea Ice Grows While The Arctic Sea Ice Melts

By R. Siva Kumar - May 26, 2016 04:59 PM EDT

Continuous Antarctic sea ice growth in spite of global warming may be explained by a new study supported by NASA and the NOAA.

NASA's Asteroid Mission Is 'Statistically Flawed' Says New Paper

By R. Siva Kumar - May 25, 2016 10:34 AM EDT

Nathan Myhrvold, ex-Microsoft billionaire, indicates that NASA's asteroid information is defective. He says that none of its results can be replicated.

It Is Because Of The Sun That Life Emerged on Earth?

By Dipannita - May 24, 2016 03:11 PM EDT

Life emerged on Earth because of the massive and powerful storms that erupted on the surface of the Sun nearly 4 billion years ago. These are the findings of a new study conducted by NASA astronomers.

NASA's New Horizon Team Makes New Discoveries About Pluto

By Dipannita - May 23, 2016 01:33 PM EDT

NASA's New Horizons spacecraft made a Pluto flyby in July 2015. Since then, the spacecraft has been sending a number of incredible images and data back to Earth. The ground breaking data is being analyzed by the team on Earth continuously to reveal key Plutonian details.

New Horizons To Explore MU69 As Soon As NASA Approves The Mission

By Dipannita - May 22, 2016 09:14 AM EDT

After the success of Pluto exploration, New Horizons is planning to explore the new strange new world of 2014 MU69. The mission would be conducted as soon as NASA gives a go ahead.

First Distance Object Spotted Beyond Pluto

By Jenn Loro - May 21, 2016 09:15 AM EDT

A post-Pluto flyby carried out by NASA-funded New Horizons mission on a Kuiper Belt object (KBO) known as 1994 JR1 debunked earlier theory of the ex-ninth planet’s quasi-satellite. Expanding missions on KBOs in the fringes of the solar system could well explain our cosmic origins.

Mars Will Loom Large And Near This Month

By R. Siva Kumar - May 20, 2016 01:41 PM EDT

Mars will come closest to the earth in a decade this month. It will offer sky-watchers a celestial show from dusk to dawn beginning this week, said NASA on Thursday.
