Nvidia has launched its Pascal architecture-based Tesla P100 GPU accelerator for PCIe servers. The company claims that the Tesla P100 GPU accelerator "delivers massive leaps in performance and value compared with CPU-based systems."It enables the creation of "super nodes" that provide the throughput of more than 32 commodity CPU-based nodes and promises to deliver up to 70% lower capital and operational costs.
Huang is one of the keynote speakers at the GPU Technology Conference in Silicon Valley. Pascal is based on 16 nm architecture that provides performance gains over existing 28 nm fabrication while being power efficient.
Apple is offering to repair MacBook Pros with faulty GPUs for free, even if you are out of the warranty. In some older MacBook Pros, a GPU supplied by AMD wasn't up to snuff and has been causing users to see lines and glitchy behavior on their screens.
