‘Sunscreen Gene' May Be the Key in Preventing and Treating Skin Cancer

By Jenn Loro - May 22, 2016 09:29 PM EDT

Scientists recently discovered what they call as ‘sunscreen gene’ with the ability to repair damages caused by UV rays- the primary cause of skin cancer. While the research requires further studies, the scientists hope that a drug could be someday be created to trigger the UV repair function of the so-called sunscreen genes based on their findings.
