The US-Russian-brokered truce among warring parties in the Syrian conflict resulted to a relative calm across Syria albeit with continuing attacks against extremists who are not part of the ceasefire.
Russian jets were reportedly targeting rebel held positions just hours before US-Russian brokered truce were due to take effect between the Syrian government and nearly 100 rebel factions.
The US-Russian-sponsored Syria truce plan is due to take effect on February 27 as agreed upon by the Assad-led regime and rebel factions belonging to the mainstream opposition.
