HTC One M9 Update: The HTC Flagship Unveiled At MWC, 20MP Camera, Almost Same Design
HTC unveiled their all new One M9 device at the ongoing Mobile World Congress which looks similar to the last year's HTC One M8.
One notable difference in HTC One M9 compared to last year's HTC One M8 is the camera. The company has ditched the UltraPixel rear camera for a more traditional 20 megapixel single lens variation. However, the camera failed to impress pundits.
The Verge noted: "Regrettably, my initial impression of this camera is not a positive one. Image noise is present in most of my pictures, and low-light photography is basically a disaster. I was reminded of BlackBerry's consistently inadequate cameras in the devices that preceded the Passport."
The new HTC flagship also lacks optical image stabilization, which the company justifies on account of physical space constraints.
HTC One M9 is slightly shorter than M8 - by 2 mm - and the company moved the power button from the top to the middle of the right side.
