Jennifer Lawrence and director David O'Russell are reported to be engaged in a blazing row that leads to an exchange of screaming at each other in the set of Joy.

According to Entertainment Wise, initial reports of the incident comes from TMZ which said that the Hunger Games superstar did not approve the director's idea in filming a scene thus the argument with lots of loud screaming and yelling from both parties started.

A representative from 20th Century Fox has confirmed that indeed the two were engaged in a very heated argument that day. However, the argument is part of 'method acting'. The director's rage is also said to be a strategy to 'rile up' and prepare the actress emotionally for the next scene wherein she had to shot at an actor.

Further,  TMZ also said that Miramax big boss Harvey Weinstein said to have gone there unannounced arrived on the set the following day but was barred by O'Russell from entering the set. Weinstein is only allowed entrance up to the make-up trailer.

The source said that Weinstein was denied entrance since it might cause a distraction with the staff and crew.

Daily Mail said that there were previous reports of David O'Russell  engaged in a heated argument with his cast and crew.

The footage taken in 2004 with actress Lily Tomlin and the director screaming at each other had made a lasting mark.

However, in an interview three years after the incident, Tomlin said that it was nice working with the director.

"I love David. There was a lot of pressure in making the movie - even the way it came out, you could see it was a very free-associative, crazy movie, and David was under a tremendous amount of pressure. And he's a very free-form kind of guy anyway," she once said.

According to New York Daily News, 'Joy' is a biopic depicting the rags-to-riches story of Joy Mangano, a single mom who had changed her stars by inventing a handy, self-wringing mop. The invention is said to become the Home Shopping Network sensation that contributed to Mangano's fortune.

Joy is the third film wherein Jennifer Lawrence and director David O'Russell have worked together. They have also worked in the previous film, American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook.
