A Utah man woke up from surgery to find a beautiful woman recording him. He went on to hit on her, not knowing that she is actually his wife.

On morphine after a hernia operation, Jason Mortenson rolls over in his hospital bed to purportedly meet his wife again for the first time, the Daily Mail reported.

He went on to ask her if the doctor sent her, which she said yes and he compliments her by saying she's "eye candy" and the prettiest woman he had ever seen.

He asked a barrage of questions: "Are you a model? Who are you? What's your name?

"You're my wife?! 'Holy sh**! Dang. How long?"

"He had been acting like that for about 20 minutes before I pulled out my phone,'' Candice Mortensen said. "I finally realized, I need to get this on video so he can see how he acts, and so I can show people because I was alone, so I was excited. He genuinely didn't remember a thing about that when I showed him the video."

For his part, Mortensen explains on the video's about section:

"I wish I could remember this but I was definitely out of it. In a previous surgery I suffered a severe complication and we didn't know if I'd ever function the same again. [Candice] is the love of my life."

However, a Slate.com story speculates that the video may be a hoax, quoting a psychologist saying that anesthesia would not wipe out the memory of six years of marriage.

Watch the video and decide for yourself whether it's real or a hoax:
