Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson Update: Actress Claims to Be ‘F —king Proud’ of Ex-Boyfriend's Work in ‘Twilight’
Kristen Stewart, who earned her fame from playing Bella Swan in "The Twilight Saga," disappointed and angered fans all over the world when her real-life relationship with Robert Pattinson, who played her love interest Edward Cullen in the movies, fell apart.
Stewart, who had already been criticized by many for her portrayal of Bella in the movies, was eaten alive when fans found out that she had cheated on Pattinson with her married "Snow White and the Huntsman" director, Rupert Sanders. Despite the criticism Stewart endeared in both her personal and professional life, her love for the movie that made her career remained unchanged.
"I mean, it was a long process, so it's hard to generalize about it as a whole," Stewart told Patti Smith about working on "Twilight" in an interview. "It wasn't entirely cohesive. We ebbed and flowed. I will definitely acknowledge that. But the intention is so [expletive] pure in a weird way. Anybody who wants to talk [expletive] about 'Twilight', I completely get it, but there's something there that I'm endlessly, and to this day, proud of. My memory of it felt - still feels - really good."
Since the end of the Twilight Saga, Stewart was cast in several movies, such as "Clouds of Sils Maria" and the critically acclaimed "Still Alice." Stewart also won a Cesar Award for her work in "Clouds of Sils Maria." She was the first American to ever win an acting award from the French Academy.
"Every movie that I've done, they don't stand independently from one another because a little bit of me is in every single one of those, and it's part of my own personal growth," the 24-year-old actress said. "I can't say that 'Twilight' doesn't have anything to do with 'Still Alice' and 'Sils Maria'. They have everything to do with each other. They are who I am."
Stewart and Pattinson have moved on from one another since their public breakup. Stewart is rumored to be dating her BFF, Alicia Cargile whereas Pattinson has been dating singer/songwriter FKA twigs.
