Batman v Superman Cast Update: Will Green Lantern be Confirmed?
When director Zack Synder officially released a picture of actor Jason Momoa as Aquaman on Twitter, many fans were quick to speculate that the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will feature the Justice League.
The tagline "Unite the Seven" that is plastered across the Aquaman poster hinted to a possible union of the seven superheroes in the Justice League. The members that have been confirmed so far include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg. With one spot left, many are speculating that a Green Lantern character could be confirmed as the final member of the league.
Although there have been so many Green Lantern characters over the years, Movie Pilot is predicting that Hal Jordan, who is the main character of the Green Lantern comics that are currently being sold in stores, would be Marvel and DC's pick. Since there have not been any confirmation about a Green Lantern, Movie Pilot suggested the possibility that the "Batman v Superman" ending will only hint to Green Lantern. The superhero might not make an appearance in this particular movie at all.
Despite the rumors that Green Lantern could be making a cameo in the movie, the tagline could also be referring a solo Aquaman movie based on writer Geoff John's recent "Rise of the Seven Seas" storyline.
Other rumors are reporting that Aquaman will have a very small role in this upcoming movie. Badass Digest writer Devin Faraci stated that Aquaman would logically only be in two scenes. The first scene would be an encounter with Lex Luther and the second will be at the very end when Batman recruits him as a member of the Justice League. Aquaman's role in the movie has not been confirmed.
"In the script Aquaman and Flash really just have cameos, but perhaps having the actors available and knowing where they're going in the future has allowed Zack Snyder and Chris Terrio to add in some tidbits about the future movies," Faraci wrote.
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is scheduled to hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
