HTC One M9 Release Confirmed For March 1, HTC One M8 Gets a Price Cut

HTC has officially announced that the next flagship - HTC One M9 - will be launched on March 1. However, it's not clear if the new flagship will be called HTC One M9 or HTC One Hima, as the company addresses the new phone as just 'The new HTC One'.

"Let them stare. The new HTC One revealed 01.03.15," HTC UK account tweeted.

Now, as the release date is quickly approaching, the leaks and rumors have accelerated as well.

  • 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD screen (edge-to-edge glass front)
  • 2.3 GHz 8-core Snapdragon 810 processor (64-bit)
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 32GB of internal storage and a micro-SD slot for expansion
  • 20 MP rear facing camera and 4 Ultrapixel front shooter
  • Android 5.0.1 Lollipop and HTC Sense UI 7.0
  • Dual HTC Boomsound Speakers with Dolby 5.1 Audio Technology
  • 2,880 or 3,000 mAh battery

Another new leak by often accurate Twitter user and HTC developer LlabTooFer provided some built-in background for the device. It said that the screen with either stay at 5-inches, or be increased to 5.5-inches, but HTC will be keeping the 1920 x 1080p full HD display.

Meanwhile, HTC has cut the price of HTC One M8, ahead the new launch. The device is now available on HTC's online store for $500 - $150 lesser than its actual price.
