NBA Trade Rumors: Wizards, Heat Show interest in Jameer Nelson

Jameer Nelson might be on the move again for the third time this season. According to RealGM's Shams Charania, the Washington Wizards and the Miami Heat are reportedly interested in trading for Nelson. However, "no deal is imminent." Nelson is reportedly happy in his current role for the Nuggets.

Nelson started off this season with the Dallas Mavericks before he was traded to the Boston Celtics. That blockbuster trade moved Rajon Rondo to Dallas. Nelson was then traded to the Denver Nuggets.

The back-up point guard is averaging 7.5 points and 4.5 assists in 23.6 minutes over 40 games this season. His career averages are 12.3 points and 5.4 assists per game. Nelson would be a great option for most play-off teams, especially since he most likely will not cost too much. Nelson is making $2.7 million this season. He has a $2.9 million player option for the 2015-2016 season.

Since Nelson has already been traded this season, the NBA rules prohibit Nelson from being traded in a package with other Nugget players.

The Heat's back-up options, Norris Cole and Shabazz Napier, have been struggling. The Heat are currently eighth in the eastern conference and could risk missing the playoffs if they do not make any changes soon.

Nelson is currently out due to an Achilles injury. He missed the last four games before the All-Star break but will get plenty of rest before the Nuggets' next game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Feb. 20.

The Nuggets are reportedly also openly trying to deal veterans Arron Afflalo and Randy Foye, according to ESPN.com's Marc Stein. The Trail Blazers, Bulls, Clippers, Heat and Kings are all interested in Afflalo, whom the Nuggets want a first-round pick for. Afflalo has a player option next season, which could prevent a trade from happening.

The NBA trade deadline is Feb 19.
