IInstagram, the Facebook-owned application, leaked a link to its new snapchat-like app, "Bolt. The download button takes one to a non functional URL on Google play store, The Verge  reports.

A few Instagram users have reported seeing a banner ad within Instagram for "Bolt". The app had a description ,"one tap messaging" with a free download button. The banner disappeared within 15 minutes.

Richard Groves, a user of Instagram spotted the new banner ad, as it first appeared on his Instagram app on Nexus 5 at around 11 p.m. ET Wednesday but he said it was taken down 15 minutes later, reports The Verge.

"Did anyone else get this weird Bolt notification on their Instagram earlier?" tweeted @yo_areli.

"What is this, @Instagram?" tweeted @englishinvader, reported CNBC .com

This is not the first time a Facebook app has leaked, Slingshot, another application was leaked even before Facebook had decided to release for  users.

Facebook is yet to make a comment on the app "Bolt". Last year, Peter Deng, Facebook Messenger product manager, moved as head of Instagram, and he may be applying his knowledge of Facebook messenger on Instagram.

Assuming Bolt is Facebook's new app then the company will have more drama for its users. However, this may not be true and Facebook could be using a fictional app name and icon just to test out their "app install ads" within Instagram.

There is another application by the name of Bolt on Google play store but it is a different mobile calling app.
