FoxNews talks about a false Iraq War story that was told for more than a decade ago by NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams. Apparently, many key facts were missing. As a result, the episode has become an embarrassing one for the news network.

Williams, 55, admitted different facts and claims that he was not in the helicopter that was hit down during Iraq invasion in 2003. Instead, he was in a Chinook following behind. However the armed forces newspaper, Stars, and Stripes recently spoke on Williams' admission and reported that he was flying with a different and was only linked by radio to the attacked unit.

Celebitchy further reports that it is not ethical for Williams to give misleading news. This is a pretty serious story and shows the news networks in poor light. NBC's Brian Williams has been beaten down in the ratings regularly as the news anchors fight over the senior citizen demographic. And the story coming out at this point is certainly not going to help Williams. Last broadcast saw Brian Williams take some moments to set the record right about a claim that he made in 2003 and has been repeating the story of the Iraq War episode ever since.

According to Variety, Williams said in an interview that he did not make the mistake on purpose and just mixed up the aircrafts with one another. And yet, he told the false story several times since 2003. The story about him and an NBC News crew aboard a Chinook helicopter that was forced down by rockets has been told and retold. Williams admits to making a mistake but not a deliberate one. David Luke, who was a flight engineer with the helicopters company, is a retired soldier from Texas thinks that it was misleading on Williams's part and shouldn't have happened.
