Finally, rumors about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's engagement and plans to marry are put to rest. According to The Guardian, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are married, and it is official. The ceremony took place at his West Hollywood home on Tuesday. Reports suggest that a larger, more extravagant ceremony will take place this weekend on Depp's private island in the Bahamas.

As Time reports, "The Rum Diary" costar, 28 and the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor, 51, met in 2011, started dating in 2012 and were engaged early last year. They got married on Feb. 3 and were in Bahamas for a second service. The simple ceremony was a quiet and a private one. However, a bigger ceremony is planned for the weekend at Little Hall's Pond Cay. The guest list is a modest one with people and Amber will wear a dress by Stella McCartney.

Johnny had stated that his two children, Lily-Rose, 15, and Jack, 12, were eager to see him get married to Amber. He is completely in love and couldn't wait.

Depp was earlier married to makeup artist Lori Allison in the '80s, and this was his first marriage. Depp was just 20-years-old, and Lori was 25, when they married in a small ceremony.

Vanessa Paradis and Depp were together for 14 years before splitting in 2012. They have a son and a daughter but were never married. It must have been a bit awkward for Heard as one of the six beaches of the 45-acre islands is named after Vanessa Paradis, as reported by USA magazine.
