Snoop Dogg’s Son Commits to UCLA
Wide receiver Cordell Broadus, the son of famous rapper, Snoop Dogg, has committed to UCLA.
"I feel that UCLA is the best fit for me," Broadus said during his announcement on ESPNU reported by ESPN.com. "I had the offer since my nine-grade year, so I had a great connection with the coaches. I just want to play in front of my family and keep ballin' out on the field and get a great degree."
Broadus is a four-star Under Armour All-American receiver from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. His recruitment journey was documented in a five-part series called "Snoop & Son: A Dad's Dream" on ESPN. Snoop, who is a longtime USC fan, stated that he was proud of his son regardless of which school he picked.
"That would mean the world to me if he went to USC and became a Trojan," Snoop recently told USA TODAY Sports. "But, it's his ultimate decision that matters the most."
"It's been awesome just watching him step into manhood and make a decision that he's comfortable with," Snoop, who wore the blue and gold Bruins jersey during the announcement, added.
Snoop also uploaded these two Instragram posts:
During his senior year, the 6-foot-2, 192 pound receiver caught 39 passes for 602 yards and 11 touchdowns. Bishop Gorman had a perfect record and won the Nevada Division I state championship.
Broadus had offers from several other top schools, such as Arizona State, Baylor, LSU and USC. He will be joining defensive back Justin Combs, the son of Sean "P. Diddy" Combs.
