iPad Air 3: Release Date

iPad Air 2 was launched in October last year and the next version of iPad Air 3 is expected to follow the same pattern. The iPad Air 1 was also announced in October, a year before therefore the guess that iPad Air 3 will be released in October appears to be "mostly" accurate.

Usually, there's a delay of 10 days between the announcement and the device actually going on sale, so the iPad Air could hit shelves in October or by early November.

iPad Air 3: Design

In terms of design, iPad Air 3 might be overhauled completely. However, Apple had only tweaked the design of iPad Air 1 when it released iPad Air 2. However this time, it might be a different story. iPad Air 2 is already 6.1mm thick - half the thickness of the original iPad.

iPad Air 3: Processor

By observing the pattern anyone can easily guess that the iPad Air 3 might contain the A9 or an A9X chip. However, this time instead focusing much on power and graphics, Apple might surprise by improving the battery life.

iPad Air 3: Screen

"The iPad Air 3's screen, then, may well get a resolution boost - perhaps approaching the 401ppi (pixels per inch) pixel density of the iPhone 6 Plus. We dread to think what this would do to the battery life, though. The iPhone 6 Plus got round that because its larger size allowed it to include a bigger battery," notes MacWorld.

iPad Air 3: Other Features

However, the megapixel count on the iPad Air 3 is expected to be the same. As usual, the new iPad will come in three color options: silver, space grey and gold.
