Former red 'Power Rangers' teen star stabs roommate to death with a sword
One of the stars of "Power Rangers Samurai" Ricardo Medina Jr., has been arrested after stabbing his roommate with a sword, according to reports.
Ricardo Medina, Jr., 36, who played the red Ranger in several of the franchise films and television shows, was involved in a heat argument with his roommate at their apartment in Green Valley on Sunday afternoon when things took a turn for the worst, according to KTLA5 news.
According to the LAPD, which confirmed the story in a press release, Medina "retreated to his bedroom with his girlfriend," but the victim, Joshua Sutter, "followed them and forced the door open."
Medina, Jr. then grabbed a sword and stabbed his roommate Joshua Sutter, 36, in the stomach. The actor then dialled 911 to report the incident and stayed with his roommate until help arrived. Sutter was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival.
Medina, Jr. has been booked for murder at the Palmdale sheriff's station and is being held for $1 million bail.
Medina, Jr. appeared in a variety of movies relating to the Power Rangers franchise including the Power Rangers Wild Force TV show which ran from 2002 - 2003 as Cole Evans / Red Lion Wild Force Ranger. Most recently, he starred in the Power Rangers Samurai TV series from 2011 - 2012 as Deker, according to the Internet Movie Database.
