When You Cancel Cable Service With Comcast, It'll Call You "Asshole"

Comcast seems to set a new customer service low. The company changed one of its customers name to "Asshole" in the final monthly service bill.

The incident happened after Ricardo Brown cancelled the service with them, which followed the final bill featuring his first name replaced with the word "Asshole."

Steve Kipp, Comcast VP of communication, has stepped in and apologized to Brown and his family, waiving the cancellation fee for their service and pledging to ensure that once the employee responsible for the insult was identified that he or she would no longer work for the company, SMN Weekly reported.

Charlie Herrin, Comcast senior VP of customer experience, said in a press release that Comcast needs to treat its customers with respect they deserve.

However, this is not the first time Comcast is in the news for its disastrous customer service. In July last year, a man posted an eight minute phone call between him and a retention specialist of Comcast who flatly refused to permit the man to cancel his Comcast service.

In the latest development, Browns got Comcast to waive the $60 cancellation fee, and also got a full refund for the two years of service. In addition, Comcast also fired the customer service representative who was responsible for the "unacceptable and inappropriate name change," West Texas News reported.
