Vine Launches Child-Friendly Vine Kids App For G-Rated Videos

There's no doubt that Vine has some seriously entertaining videos, however, they might not be appropriate for every age group. However, thankfully, the company has launched a version of its app just for kids.

Called Vine Kids, the app shows videos that it deems appropriate for younger eyes. Children can simply swipe left or right to watch a new Vine, and tap the screen to hear fun sounds.

"We've seen for ourselves - and heard from parents, siblings and others - that kids love Vine," Carolyn Penner, head of communications and marketing for the app, wrote in a blog post. "So, we built Vine Kids, a simple new app that gives young children a fun way to watch Vines."

Penner said the idea for the app came about during an office conversation in early January when a colleague said his 2-year-old daughter loved Vine, but he wished there was a separate app for age-appropriate videos, according to PC Mag.

"That week happened to be Hack Week, a time when we get to work on projects outside of our day-to-day work," she said. "So two folks teamed up and built exactly that."

As of now, the Vine Kids app is only available for iOS.
