Baring a svelte blue mutant naked bodies in the movies may be one thing but stark naked photos of actresses going viral online! People of the nude communities would object too.

Nude pictures of Jennifer Lawrence, Ariana Grande, Kate Upton and many other female celebrities were leaked online over the weekend stemming from a massive iCloud hack.

The pictures show the celebrities in "various stages of undress." Some are partially clothed while others are completely nude. Some pictures are selfies while some seem to be taken by others, according to The Telegraph. The photos were posted on the bulletin board website 4chan and as soon as they surfaced, the Internet went crazy.

People took to twitter to express their emotions, even the victim celebrities.

"To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves," actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead tweeted.

"Knowing those photos were deleted long ago, I can only imagine the creepy effort that went into this. Feeling for everyone who got hacked," she added.

Victoria Justice, the "Victorious" actress also explained on the social media website that those nude photos were "fake," adding some humor to it.

"These so called nudes of me are FAKE people. Let me nip this in the bud right now. *pun intended.*"

Though there was no personal reaction from Jennifer Lawrence, a spokesperson for the Oscar-winning actress said:

"This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."

While some fans stood up for Lawrence:

"I hate what is happening to Jennifer Lawrence. She's such a talented young woman. Just want to give her a mum hug & say 'Sod it darling'," one fan tweeted.

"All these rumors of Jennifer Lawrence! Gosh all of you who share the pics are part of it now!! Some people are just sick!!" another posted.

Many of them were either mocking or thrashing the celebs for posing nude.

"Stop posing nude on camera, dummy. Your husband not know what you look like nude? #LessonLearned," one tweeter posted in response to Winstead's tweets.

But some more sensible people pointed out that the larger picture here was the security threat smartphones and Apple's storage system faces.

"Secondly isn't the fact that iCloud has been hacked a bigger story than Jennifer Lawrence's nipples? That's kind of a big deal right?" a user tweeted.

Investigations are on to nab the culprit of the nude photos leak. Some Reddit users have already zeroed in on a Reddit user Bryan Hamade, a 27-year-old from Lawrenceville, Georgia.

"I am not behind this. It was so stupid - I saw a lot of people posting the actual leaks and bitcoin addresses and I've read a lot about bitcoin and how they're are valuable and I thought, oh cool I'll get free bitcoins," Hamade told Buzzfeed.

"I am just an idiot who tried to pull one over on 4chan and lost big time and stupidly left this identifying information. They took my proof and back traced it - it isn't remotely true. I am not a hacker. I have no idea how the hell someone could hack into all those accounts," he said adding that they 4chan users have been harassing him with calls, emails and other cyber threats.
