Goodwill receives a donated skull, police searching for donor
Thrift stores are known to receive strange donations from time to time. One thrift store in Austin, Texas received a donated human skull, according to KVUE news.
Goodwill staff discovered the skull while sifting through donations on July 16. A spokeswoman says it could have been gifted up to a week prior to its discovery.
The Austin Police Department is looking for a person who may have donated a human skull to an Austin Goodwill store. Police said the skull was found at the Goodwill at 5555 North Lamar Boulevard.
Detective Derek Israel with the APD Homicide Unit says they turned the skull over to the Medical Examiner. Now the M.E. needs the public's help before completing their final report.

"The Medical Examiner of Travis County, they have a responsibility to try to identify the identity of any remains and the circumstance under which the person died. So they requested the assistance of the police department in trying to find out who the person is that made this donation," Israel said.
"We have gotten prosthetic limbs. We have gotten Rolex watches. We have gotten Krugerrands. Our donations run the gamut," said Traci Berry with Goodwill.
