Reports: More iPhones Are Being Sold in China Than US
More iPhones may have been sold in China than U.S. for the first time in history, according to reports.
Apple will unveil its global sales results for the final quarter of last year and analysts expect Apple to announce the historic tipping point on the occasion, according to Financial Times.
Analysts pointed to the California-based tech giant's deal with China Mobile-the country's largest network operator-as the tipping point for Apple. In fact, China reportedly accounted for 36 percent of iPhone shipments in the most recent quarter; the U.S. made up only 24 percent, UBS estimates said, according to PC Mag.
CEO Tim Cook had also noted that China "will be Apple's biggest revenue contributor [in] just a matter of time."
