Doctor's Hat-Trick Deliveries Of Mom, Dad And Baby
Breanna and Kevin Fleischman is one couple that did not know that the husband and wife shared something at birth---the same doctor!
They were both born in Orange County and grew up just a mile apart. However, they met only in high school. After nine years, the Ladera Ranch childhood sweethearts got married and followed it with a baby, according to ktla.com.
They spent months searching for the best doctor, and finally found Dr. Barrie May, of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Orange County, Los Angeles.
Breanna confessed to her mother-in-law that the same doctor, Dr Barrie May, who had delivered her in the 1980s would now deliver her son. "I always knew I was going to see Dr. May," said Breanna, according to abc11.com.
Her mother-in-law recognized Dr. Barrie May as delivering her own son 30 years earlier too. "She said, 'oh that's who delivered Kevin as well!' I said OK well, that's a little crazy," chuckled Breanna, according to nydaily.com.
Dr Barrie delivered Kevin in October 1984, and then delivered Breanna in April 1986. After more than 10,000 babies through 46 years in the community, Dr May realized that Maverick's birth on Tuesday has led to his first hat-trick of father, mother and son. It was the 10,437th baby of his career.
Dr May said that it was not possible to recall all his patients, but he could recognise Kevin and Breanna's parents. "The pleasant fact was that I remembered both of the husbands. That was quite nice," said May.
Family album photographs showed Dr. May with both of them as newborns. An addition now is that of Dr May with their newborn boy, Maverick.
'It's literally a full circle,' Dr May said. 'Kevin told me, "oh by the way you delivered my wife." I've had that happen a number of times.
'But then, "oh by the way you delivered me too." And that was a first.'
And Kevin, 30, confessed the couple's plans for another baby, according to dailymail.com.
"I hope he's still around when we have our second kid," Breanna quips.
After another year and a half, Dr May will retire, so the couple has to move fast.
