CBS Analyst, Former NBA Player Arrested in Prostitution Sting
CBS analyst and former NBA player, Greg Anthony has been arrested for partaking in a prostitution sting. ABC affiliate, WJLA was the first to report on this story.
According to these reports, Anthony was arrested and has been charged with suspicion of soliciting prostitution. He could face up to 180 days in jail.
Anthony was arrested at 5:47 p.m. ET on Friday "in the 1500 block of Rhode Island Avenue NW," BuzzFeed News confirmed. He was held at the District Two police station before being released Friday evening, Lt. Kelvin Cusick said to the Associated Press.
Anthony was a part of the UNLV Runnin' Rebels teams during the late 1980s to early 1990s. He was the 12th overall draft pick in 1991 for the New York Knicks. Anthony played for several other teams, including the Chicago Bulls, the Portland Trailblazers and the Grizzlies, who were located in Vancouver at that time. He retired in 2002. Over his 11-season career, he averaged 7.3 points per game.
Since his retirement, Anthony worked for ESPN as an in-studio and game analyst from 2002 to 2008. He then became an analyst for Turner Sports and CBS. He is the lead color commentator for CBS during the NCAA Tournament. Anthony also contributes to Yahoo! Sports as a basketball analyst.
He was supposed to announce the Michigan State-Maryland men's basketball game on Saturday in College Park, Maryland.
