Rick Spielman, the general manager of the Minnesota Vikings, wants Adrian Peterson back on the team in 2015.

Spielman told reporters on Wednesday, "I don't know if there's a team in the NFL that wouldn't want Adrian Peterson on the football team. If you can name me one ... and I don't want to speak for other teams ... but I know that he's a pretty good football player."

Peterson, 29, is currently suspended and will not be eligible for reinstatement until at least April 15. The running back and 2012 NFL MVP did not play for the most part of the 2014 season after news of a child abuse charge surfaced.

Peterson was indicted by a Montgomery County, Texas grand jury on a felony charge for hurting his four-year-old son. Peterson had reportedly disciplined his son with a wooden switch. The toddler had slash-like wounds on his legs.

Peterson pled no contest to misdemeanor charges of recklessly assaulting his child on Nov. 4. He reached a plea agreement and avoided imprisonment. He was placed on probation and fined $4,000. He was assigned 80 hours of community service.

The league initially placed Peterson on the exempt list. After Peterson pled no contest, he was suspended without pay from the league. Peterson tried to appeal the ruling but the suspension was upheld.

"I know that Adrian is a good person, just being around him," Spielman said. "I know he's done a lot of good in this community. What he did - he just came out and said he made a mistake. As Zim had stated earlier, he has to get all that in order and then we'll proceed from there."

He added, "Knowing Adrian, I know that he is going to want to come back and play - he's going to play at a very high level when he comes back. I'm anticipating that, just knowing Adrian from what he's done in the past."

Peterson has been with the Vikings for eight years. He is currently under contact for the next three seasons.
