'Love Actually' News & Update: Hugh Grant & Martine McCutcheon Are Back; Majority Of Original Cast Returns
"Love Actually" is set to have its sequel and Hugh Grant is going to be a part of it. Grant is hinted to be the prime minister in the sequel.
According to a report, there are hints of the "Love Actually" sequel and the photos reveal the characters of Hugh Grant as the British prime minister and Martine McCutcheon's Natalie. The controversial couple in the film is not just together but they are also married in the upcoming sequel.
Emma Freud, the script writer of the minisequel and the film posted on her Twitter account some behind-the-scenes photos showing the characters of "Love Actually." The original director and script writer Richard Curtis is also seen in the photos.
A report indicated that the "Love Actually" sequel will be part of the Red Nose Day. The original casts that have signed up for the sequel include Colin Firth, Keira Knightley and Andrew Lincoln. Bill Nighy, Marcus Brigstocke, Rowan Atkinson and Lucia Moniz have also joined the sequel. Emma Thompson on the other hand, has not signed up for the sequel. She shared that it will be a little sad not to be with her on-screen husband Alan Rickman.
In the meantime, Curtis shared that he has been glad that most of the original casts are still around to do the sequel for "Love Actually." Curtis added that it will be nostalgic for the casts especially that they all will reunite after 14 years since the original film was aired.
All the casts that signed up for "Love Actually" sequel are to reprise their roles from the film in 2003. Meanwhile, a 10-minute short for the film is going to be viewed on Red Nose Day. The cast and crew hope for the minisequel to help in raising funds for the event.
This short film will revisit once again the characters from the "Love Actually" original film. The film is set to air on March 24 in the UK and May 2 in the U.S.
