Dallas Cowboys is planning to bring Josh McCown to their side considering it is planning to part ways with Tony Romo according to news reports. This is the second time the news reports suggesting an attempt from the management as Cowboys tried earlier to bring him their team last summer when he was part of Cleveland Browns.

The 37-year-old quarterback is a free agent now, and he is expected to make the foray with Cowboys as the backup of Dak Prescott, if things work fine. McCown confirmed that he is interested in continuing another season in the NFL and reports are stating both the parties have "mutual interest" on it. The offensive starter Prescott would need to have support to increase the depth of the offense. It was also rumored that the team might re-sign Kellen Moore, but the team is expected to look someone more experienced in starts.

McCown is a very good athlete and an excellent team player. He has years of service staying healthy and brings quite a good amount of experience as he worked with different teams. It should be noted that the Cowboys is planning to release Romo because of his various health issues that made him miss matches throughout his career. This is another reason to bring a consistent veteran to the team like McCown. However, the owner of the team Jerry Johns did not confirm any reports of releasing Romo.

In his career span of 15 years, McCown played for as many as 10 NFL teams. He started his career with Arizona Cardinals in 2002 and he did not continue with any team for more than three years. His last team was Cleveland Browns, and he was released from the team on Feb. 7, 2017. McCown has a statistics of 14,242 yards with 69 interceptions and 79 touchdowns in a total of 82 career games which includes 60 starts.
