'Bates Motel' Season 5 Air Date Spoilers, News & Update: Rihanna Transforms As Marion Crane; Is This The Final Season?
"Bates Motel" is set to start its final season. The premiere episode of the series will feature Rihanna and her transformation on being Marion Crane.
According to a report, "Bates Motel" Season 5 is the final season of the series. Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) will eventually be turning psycho in the final season. This season also will introduce Marion Crane and the famous shower scene in the film "Psycho."
It can be remembered that Norman killed his mother Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga) in the previous season. Norman Bates still has hallucinations of his mother. In fact, Norma's body is still in their house and she lives in the mind of her son in "Bates Motel" Season 5.
A report indicated that "Bates Motel" Season 5 will finally reveal the series to be a prequel to Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. Farmiga will be back as Norma in the upcoming season but the scenes will mostly be flashbacks since she only is a product of Norman's imagination.
Norman this time is living a dual life. He looks happy and content when in public but whenever he is at home, he is lonely and miserable. "Bates Motel" Season 5 will introduce the arrival of Marion Crane and will give fans the story on how she ended up at Norman's care.
Meanwhile, Rihanna has done some transformation from being a music icon to portraying roles on film and this time on TV. In Bates Motel Season 5 she will play Crane who is an ordinary woman with a regular job. She ends up stealing money from her boss and ran away. This is where she ended up at Bates Motel.
Executive director Kerry Ehrin shared that reaching out to Rihanna regarding the role for "Bates Motel" Season 5 had them in taking the chance. The team knew that Rihanna has been busy with her shoot on Ocean's Eleven. However, it was not hard to convince her do the part and she went on and agreed to be Marion Crane.
The premiere episode of "Bates Motel" Season 5 airs Feb. 20.
