According to a report, "Sons of Anarchy" has a spin-off titled "Mayans MC." It also is confirmed that Edward James Olson will be a series regular when the show kicks in. Olson will portray the role of Felipe Reyes. He is a strong Mexican Patriarch who has struggled mostly in life. He is determined to bury his past and lead his sons towards a righteous and lawful life.
The pilot episode of "Sons of Anarchy" spin-off will start next month. The story follows the life of EZ Reyes of the Mayans motorcycle club. He happens to be a potential member for the California-Mexico border. EZ Reyes' character is still to be cast and there is no official star to play the role yet.
"Sons of Anarchy" spin-off "Mayans MC" is set right after the death of Jax Teller at the end of the seventh season of SOA. The finale episode of the seventh season was in 2014. This spin-off then focuses on the other characters left behind.
Olmos is the first star to be cast in the "Sons of Anarchy" spin-off Mayans MC. The series is co-created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James. Sutter is also set to direct the pilot episode and he also is producing the show. James, on the other hand, is co-executive producer.
Meanwhile, "Sons of Anarchy" ran for six years with seven seasons on FX that began in 2008. It has been one of the flagship series for FX Network. The series had high ratings then and it also brought about Charlie Hunnam's career at that time.
The Mayan MC charter that will be the focus of the "Sons of Anarchy" spin-off appeared with brief appearances on the original show.
There has been no official air date for "Sons of Anarchy" spin-off yet.
