A new research found out that most young adults have a "hearing" problem due to noise pollution. There are those who experience hearing loss at the age of 20 years old.

According to a report, noise outside can be a cause of hearing loss. This is not limited to the noise in the office but the everyday noise that one encounters. It may be a sound from loud speaker or the everyday noise on the streets.

The study indicates that most of the people who have hearing loss do not know it. The study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention finds out a surprising number of people who are suffering from hearing loss.

The researchers at CDC found that the 24 percent of the adult population have 'audiometric notches.' This is a "hearing loss" where the softest sound one can hear is lost. This data came from the study that involved 3,583 people. They went through some hearing tests and the results were reported in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) in 2011-2012.

According to CDC's acting president Anne Schuchat noise can damage hearing before it is noticed. This is the reason why that "hearing" loss is not recognized at the beginning.According to the study,  19 percent of adults ages 20-29 have hearing loss problems and this data seems alarming according to Schuchat.

Meanwhile, it is indicated that "hearing" loss can be caused by the noise at home. There are those who have the damage and still believe that their hearing is excellent. It is also indicated that the louder the noise and the more one is exposed to it, hearing is damaged.

Additionally, hair cells in the air are damaged when exposed to loud noises and will lead to a permanent hearing loss. Noise that reaches up to 85 decibels can already damage hearing.
