'Bates Motel' Season 5 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Rihanna Set To Portray Marion Crane; Fifth And Final Season Set To Air Soon
"Bates Motel" is down to its fifth and final season. Rihanna is set to be Marion Crane in the upcoming season.
According to report, "Bates Motel" Season 5 is set two years after the previous season. It means that Norman (Freddie Highmore) is alone in their home with the dead body of his mother Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga).
Marion Crane is going to check in the motel in "Bates Motel" Season 5. She does not know yet what is in store for her upon checking out. Dylan (Max Thierot), Norman's half-brother, has been living the life with his girlfriend Emma (Olivia Cooke). They are both unaware of the events that happened with Norma and Norman.
As "Bates Motel" Season 5 is coming, a new trailer has been released for the series. The backstory of Marion Crane in the TV series is different from the film. It can be recalled that Crane, from the film 'Psycho', has stolen a big amount of money from her boss. She then ends up in the motel to meet up with her boyfriend. She did not realize that she will end up dead in the shower.
Showrunner Kerry Ehrin shares that the team are taking bits and pieces from the film and altered it a little on the series. "Bates Motel" Season 7 is also set to take on a different way according to Ehrin. However, it is noted that the fragment that can be seen in the series are recognizable to be a prequel to the film 'Psycho.'
Meanwhile, Norma is still alive in Norman's mind. It is expected that fans can see more of Norma in "Bates Motel" Season 7. The upcoming season also will have Norman on the verse of psychosis. He lives a life with two faces. Outside he seems happy and living a normal life while at home he is lonely and speaks to his dead mother all the time.
"Bates Motel" is coming to its end and the fifth season is set to air on Feb. 20.
