"Stranger Things" Season 2 is set to air and there are some plot details being revealed. It is reported that Sean Astin will join the series as a new love interest of Winona Ryder's character.

According to a report, Sean Astin  will be joining in the upcoming "Stranger Things" Season 2 and will portray the role of Bob Newby. His character is a classmate of Hopper (David Harbour) and Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder). It is also speculated that Astin will end up being Joyce's boyfriend in the upcoming season of the series.

It seems that there is a love triangle set to happen in "Stranger Things" Season 2. Astin is also a star from the 80's. He has been a star in the 1985 hit movie 'Goonies' as Mikey. Winona has also been a star who has made it big in the 1980's.

Aside from Astin, there are also other new characters that will be in "Stranger Things" Season 2. Linnea Berthelsen has been cast to play the role of Roman in the series. The character of Roman is described to be a woman who is emotionally damaged since she suffered a great loss in her childhood.

Dr. Owens is also a new character in "Stranger Things" Season 2. He is described to be a high-ranking member of the Department of Energy. He had been tasked to look into the events that happened in town from the previous year. The character will be portrayed by Paul Reiser.

Additionally, Murray Bauman is also a new character added to "Stranger Things" Season 2. His role will be played by Brett Gelman. He plays the role of a journalist that will end up investigating the case that happened in Hawkins.

Meanwhile, it is reported that "Stranger Things" Season 2 happens a year after the previous episode. There are several events that are already happening to the characters in the series. It is also hinted that there will be an answer to Barb's (Shannon Purser) death in the upcoming season. "Stranger Things" Season 2 is set to air this year.
