'Grateful Dead' Documentary Update; "Long Strange Trip" To Stream On Amazon Prime; Iconic Ban Docu Showcases Band's Dynamics
A documentary of the iconic band "Grateful Dead" is set to stream on Amazon this year. The documentary will run for four hours and is going to be divided into six parts.
According to a report, this film of the "Grateful Dead" gathers their creative forces, interpersonal dynamics.and the band's ambitions. The documentary is set to follow how the band went on to being an icon. The documentary is titled 'Long Strange Trip' and Martin Scorsese as the Executive Producer. It is indicated in the report that the documentary of the Grateful Dead will premiere during the Sundance Festival.
The "Grateful Dead's" documentary has been a work of Scorsese for two years now. He planned it before and now it is moving on to Amazon Prime right after it showcases at Sundance. The premiere will be attended by the band's members Miskey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir. Trixie, Gerry Garcia's daughter will also be there.
Scorsese has shared in a statement that he has always admired the band for a long time. He also shares that the artists have changed the world and will forever remain an icon. He adds that the film will educate the younger generations about what the Grateful Dead has done after all these years.
Meanwhile, 'Long Strange Trip' is directed by Amir Bar-Liv. It is reported that the band started performing as the Warlocks in May 5, 1965. They disbanded in 1995 right after Gerry Garcia died. Garcia has been a well-known guitarist of all time.
A report indicates that the title of the documentary is taken from the refrain of the song 'Truckin' by the "Grateful Dead." The said song has been recognized as a national treasure by the United States Library of Congress in 1997.
