"The Handmaid's Tale" has just released its first trailer. The first trailer reveals a creepy look of the upcoming show.

Hulu's "The Handmaid's Tale" is adapted from Margaret Atwood's novel of the same title. The novel was published in 1985. This much anticipated dystopian drama stars Elisabeth Moss. She portrays the role of the handmaid Offred.

"The Handmaid's Tale" is said to be timely in these recent times. The story is all about the stripping off of women's rights and the only responsibility that the 'handmaids' have is to reproduce. This latest drama is considered to be Hulu's original series.

Offred is the star of "The Handmaid's Tale" and is in a world where being a woman is a struggle. The Republic of Gilead is the world where these women in the story live by each day with all their rights being taken from them. This republic is formerly known as the United States.

Meanwhile, executive producer and writer Bruce Miller shares in a report that the team has been loyal to the book. He adds that whenever there are changes that need to be done in the series, the team makes sure that it still connects with the book.

The story further tells of the women's place in a society where the rights are limited. Most of these women are being forced to reproduce based on the republic's culture in "The Handmaid's Tale." Offred is one character in the show that has been submissive to the rules but is planning to free her from this kind of slavery.

Additionally, a report indicates that this may have been an ambitious take for Hulu in an original show. The series also stars Samira Wiley as Moira and Joseph Fiennes who portrays the role of The Commander.

Also included in the show are Yvonne Strahovski who plays the role of Seren Joy and Alexis Bledel. "The Handmaid's Tale" is set to stream in Hulu on April 26, 2017.
