'Charmed' Comes Back On TV; CW Says "Reimaging" In The Works; Will Original Halliwell Sisters Make A Cameo?
'Charmed" gets a reboot and this time the people behind "Jane the Virgin" will be behind the scenes. Fans of the Halliwell sisters can't help but get excited about the news of the reboot. But is it a reboot? Will the Halliwells still be in the story or not?
The new Charmed may not feature the original Halliwell sisters but there's a new cast in the offing. Fans of the original series can remember the sisters played by Alyssa Milano (Phoebe), Holly Marie Combs (Piper), Rose McGowan (Paige) and Shannen Doherty (Prue). The series ran for eight seasons in the past from 1998 to 2006. Milano has wished the new cast well and has even posted in her twitter account how she is grateful for their "Charmed" fans.
#Charmed fans! There are no fans like you. You're the best of the best.

The story, it seems, will still have the good vs. bad plot. Three witches will arise from New England in 1976. There have been rumors about the return of Charmed but it seems that it will not be a reboot but more of a "reimagining. Rumors are circulating that it could be a prequel of the first series considering that it is set in 1976.
CW has reportedly ordered the pilot for the "reimagining" of Charmed. Fans of the original series know that the Halliwell sisters we born in the 1970s. So the timeline may be about the difficulties their families experienced before they were born.
Fans are hoping that the original cast will also be given an opportunity to make a comeback or at least cameo roles. It will be exciting how the new "Charmed" will weave the stories of the past series into the new one. It can be expected the CW will take into consideration that the fans have matured and that the new series will reflect it as well.
