'Planned Parenthood' Partners With Women's March; Demonstration Set To Send Message For Trump Administration
"Planned Parenthood" is set to join in the Women's March in Washington D.C. The march is set to happen on January 21, 2017.
It is reported that "Planned Parenthood's" involvement in the march is set to send out a message for reproductive rights. The march is also supported by Gloria Steinem. Together with Steinem is Harry Belafonte and both will join the march.
It is not yet confirmed if Steinem and Belafonte are part of the speakers in the event. Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood shares in a report that the group is to send out a strong message to the incoming administration.
The Women's March is set to have the demonstration a day after the Trump inauguration. This is in partnership with the "Planned Parenthood." Together they are going to make a stand on reproductive responsibilities.
As of this time, "Planned Parenthood's" involvement in the demonstration will include logistics, safety measures and provide staff for the demonstration. There are 200,000 participants expected to attend this big event.
Meanwhile, the event is slated to be pro-women. "Planned Parenthood" and Women's March are both taking a stand in the issues of women today. The organizations also are raising awareness to many on other organizations that support the same objective.
It is reported that there are 150 expected affiliated marches that will happen all around the world. It is a big demonstration and the organizers are doing it in a wide range. It can be recalled that the event started out on Facebook and had 240,000 people interested. There also has been a record of 155,000 people who are confirmed to attend the demonstration
This said event is set to bridge the gap for the historical struggles of women's rights to the intersectional movement for dignity and human rights. This is also a demonstration for fundamental human rights.
