A total "Solar Eclipse" is coming in 2017. This has been a phenomenon that has not happened in decades. The upcoming year is filled with lunar events.

The first day of 2017 starts with a conjunction of the crescent moon and the planet Venus. This beautiful pair on the skies is to happen right after sunset on this day. The conjunction is to happen in the southwestern sky.

Another conjunction between the moon is going to happen and this time, the planet Mars is to happen on the second of January next year. The moon is going to be closer to these two planets during the entire month of January.

Aside from these activities of the moon in the early months of 2017, a "Solar Eclipse" is also set to happen on Aug. 21, 2017. This event will pass through the Pacific Ocean to the center of the United States.

This "Solar Eclipse" is set to be a big event for the Earth this coming 2017. It is also reported that next year is good for astronomical activities. There seems to be more to expect from the skies in the coming year.

There is going to be a full moon by Jan. 21 and the stars up in the sky are to give out some unique formation in 2017. There is going to be a Double-double. These are stars beside each other right and are beside the three bright stars called the Summer Triangle.

Meanwhile, meteor showers can also be expected in 2017. There is an Orionid meteor shower that will happen in October 21 and a Leonid meteor shower on Nov. 17. However the bigger event is reported to be the total Solar Eclipse. It is even considered 'The Big One.'

A total "Solar Eclipse" happened in mainland U.S. in 1979. This is considered to be one special event for the Earth.
