The Christmas season release "Passengers" have dealt with a heavy subject - science fiction thriller. But, the question is whether the movie is engaging the viewers or not. It can be said that the movie is giving a mixed feeling with there are some confusing and complicating elements in the story. Will a love story work in a science fiction movie?

The unconvincing plots and twists in Passengers are not getti g past the viewers. The plot of the movie does not seem to be well planned or really executed one. It looks as if the writer decided the category of the movie before developing the story. A mixing up of science fiction with some twists in the story along with some romance is making the movie all about. While coming to science fiction part, most of the concepts introduced in the movie are not well convincing or not able to astonish the audience.

The plot of Passengers is dealing with a spacecraft journey from earth to another planet named Homestead II, which is many light-years away, that will take them 120 years. The spacecraft carries 5,000 passengers from earth as they are leaving to colonize the new planet. Considering the years of journey, everyone in the vehicle is hibernated to stop the aging process. But, during the journey, the spacecraft faces some technical issues, which is expected to further delay the journey time.

The movie Passengers is suddenly getting the hero and heroine to the scene, where Jim Preston (Chris Pratt), a mechanical engineer with the help of a writer Aurora Lane (Jennifer Lawrence). They both try to fix the malfunctioning spacecraft. The movie then moves to the multiple hurdles they face and how they fix the issues of the ship. In the meantime, a relationship is growing between both of them and the remaining plots show how they save the ship and what they plan about their life.

Passenger's less impressive plot doesn't offer what is required-  freshness. It looks like folklore story which is mixed up with everything from action to romance. To a certain extent, the acting of both Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence save the movie, but in total, the movie is not impressive and can be rated as average.
