Many people always wanted to play Mass Effect 2 but never had the chance since there is an equivalent amount you need to pay first before you can play the game completely. We all know that EA is no stranger on free-to-play games but this might be the biggest offering EA can give today. The science fiction role-playing shooter game Mass Effect 2 can now be yours and you won't be charged any penny as part of EA's "Origin on the House" campaign.

However, if you would visit Origin's official website, the RPG doesn't appear to be free and not listed under the "Free Games" section as of the moment. Instead, if you click "Free Games" you can only find the classic 1997 Bullfrog and EA's strategy video game Dungeon Keeper there. The answer is, you can download the game through Electronic Arts' Origin service free of charge, the only requirement is for you to set up an account and have Origin installed.

"On the house" is a new campaign by Electronic Arts to promote classic games to people and to increase the popularity of Origin among gamers. The Origin on the House campaign allows account holders to download full playable versions of some of the most iconic games from the past but for a limited time only. Dungeon Keeper is one of those classic games and is currently given away as part of their ongoing campaign.

No reason has been announced why Mass Effect 2 is made free and the game may not be officially part of Electronic Arts' Origin on the House program, which gives away free games every few months, but developer BioWare will be giving away bunch of free items over the next five days starting tomorrow.

For those who are not familiar with the game, you will play as Commander Shepard, and you are tasked to determine the fate of humanity in a fight for survival.

Mass Effect 2 was out in market since 2010 for the Windows PC, Xbox 360, and PS 3. The next game in the series is Mass Effect Andromeda, and is rumored to make its debut on the PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One next year.
