Arkham Origins Developers Cancelling Suicide Squad Game To Work On Batman’s Son Damian Wayne Story [Rumor]

WB Montreal is probably best known to be the developers behind the Arkham: Origins game, but rumors have come out that the studio is working on another Batman game that is centered around Batman's son, Damian Wayne.

The news comes from Kotaku, and it's said that the studio was working on an unannounced "Suicide Squad" game before pulling the plug and eventually moving over to develop another Batman game.

It was said that the "Suicide Squad" game had been in development for almost two years and that it was supposed to be a co-op game of some sort. Apparently, the team wasn't able to impress the higher-ups in the Warner Bros. management so the project was eventually axed.

Some were expecting the game to come out alongside "Suicide Squad" last August, but seeing as the movie has come and gone with no official announcement on the game, it's possible that there will be no news on it unless Warner Bros. decides to revisit the "Suicide Squad" franchise.

To those unfamiliar with Damian Wayne, he is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul - making him Ra's al Ghul's grandson. He was trained by the League of Assassins to kill at a young age and Batman wasn't even aware of his existence. He is the fifth person to assume the Robin persona and has fought crime alongside his father since 2006.

Some are speculating just how a game focused on Damian Wayne would turn out, and they think that the game would have something to do with the player switching places between Damian and Batman. It's also quite possible that it could be focused on Damian fighting crime with Dick Grayson's Nightwing as he also shares a history with the character.

No official release date has been announced for the game, but some expect an announcement by 2017.
