It looks like Red Dead Redemption 2 might get three lead characters instead of one.

According to a report by Red Dead Redemption 2 fan news site, RDR2.com, a leak from a well-known Rockstar Games insider says that the upcoming Rockstar Games Western action-adventure videogame won't just have one playable characters but three just like Rockstar's GTA 5. These three leads would be taken from the original gang that John Marston was part of right before the original Red Dead Redemption began its story, however it seems like John won't be part of those three.

The trailers and promotional images for Red Dead Redemption 2 already signaled that the game would be a sequel, but this little bit further stamps out its role in the Red Dead Redemption sequel. Aside from the reveal on the playable characters in the game, the leak also states that the Western action-adventure would release its multiplayer mode a whole lot later like GTA Online to keep gamers from crashing the servers on day one of RDR 2's release.

The insider reasons out that if gamers had the online mode on the first day, a lot of buyers wouldn't even try out the game's single player campaign so to give the story mode more plays, Rockstar has decided to dish out multiplayer a bit later.

Rumor has it that the online mode of the game would feature a Wild West death match with 16 different players and PC Advisor reports that the Rockstar would also be delivering a PC version of the game sometime after its official release.

For gamers who aren't too sure about the information in the leaks, RDR2.com says that the insider has given solid information based on internal communications from Rockstar before, most often for GTA V DLCs with the most recent leak being that of the upcoming Import/Export DLC for GTA Online.

Given the track record, the leak for the upcoming Red Dead Redemption sequel may very well be true. Still, gamers are advised to take the information with a grain of salt and wait till Rockstar makes its confirmation.
