Good news from the fans of the "The Good Wife," one of the most popular character is set to return on the sequel, "The Good Fight". The brilliant attorney Elsbeth Tascioni, played by Carrie Preston, is set to reprise her role as a guest on the upcoming series.

Preston won an Emmy award for her role on the original series, created and executive produced by Robert and Michelle King. Upon the premiere of "The Good Wife" episode finale, Robert King told Deadline that they would bring Preston's Elsbeth Tascioni "in a heartbeat" for a potential spinoff. "Carrie's Elsbeth Tascioni character we love so much and we wish she could be involved more in the end," Robert King told Deadline in May.

Preston's role was a cliffhanger in the series. The Kings had tried to get her for a major arc in the show's final chapter but she had casted in NBC's comedy series "Crowded" which allowed her to appear in one episode of last season of "The Good Wife".

The spin-off series from the "The Good Wife," titled as "The Good Fight" is executive produced by the Kings. The story of "The Good Fight" follows one year after the events of the final episode of "The Good Wife," as reported by Cinema Blend.

In "The Good Fight", an enormous financial scam has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer, Maia (Rose Leslie), while simultaneously wiping out her mentor Diane Lockhart's (Baranski) savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, they join Lucca Quinn (Jumbo) at one of Chicago's pre-eminent law firms.

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that other original "The Good Wife" cast member is also set to return. These includes Sarah Steele, who is a regular, and Zach Grenier, Jerry Adler and Gary Cole, who will guest star, as reported by E!Online.

"The Good Fight" will premiere in February with a special broadcast on CBS, then move exclusively to CBS All Access, CBS' VOD and live streaming service.
