Mobile gaming has significantly improved over the last few years and that also meant the unstoppable evolution of mobile games. Mobile app developers, both pros and newcomers, played it really well in giving Android users another reason not to put our phones down.

2016 contributed some of the record-breaking Android games. Who would ever forget July 6, 2016? The date when the world has gone nuts over the "Pokemon Go" craze.

And as we bid goodbye to the wonderful 2016, we say hello to the top Android games to watch out for in 2017:

1.      Super Mario Run

We first loved this Nintendo classic way back 1985, and its highly anticipated return will feature Mario, who now runs on his own as the player makes sure to jump, attack, and do tricks on time. We've been trying to get more Super Mario Run details but the updates are still under wraps. Well, this must be really good as this is on top of many gamers' wish lists.

2.      Durango

If you will be taken to an island filled with dinosaurs, what would you do? Awaken your survival instinct as this game is all about building tribes, collecting supplies and making the most out of their surroundings.

3.      Sheltered

In this era where everything seems to be dependent in internet and technology, how do you think you can survive an apocalypse event? This has started out as a PC game, about a family of four who is set to survive under a bunker after an apocalypse event. No released date has been finalized but it is said to be out in 2017.

4.      Duelyst

Already available on PC, Mac, Playstation 4 and Xbox One, Duelyst is a Tactical RPG that focuses on short play sessions. If you are into deck-building games like Dominion, Legendary: Alien Encounters and more, this is surely a perfect hit for you.

5.      Skullgirls Mobile

This fighting game, which is heavily based on Marvel vs Capcom series, is a 3-on-3 game that features cute girls on battle royale. Since Skullgirls already made a name in fighting game market, Reverge Labs made sure that they added up twists and leveled up the game's mechanics for the 2017 mobile version.

2017 seems to be a very promising year to mobile gamers, especially to Android users. Did we miss anything on your 2017 Android games list? Please let us know.
