‘Final Fantasy XV' Season Pass Now Available; Reveals Gilgamesh And Gladio Expansion Update

Just in case somebody missed it, Square Enix has just released its latest update. “Final Fantasy XV” Season Pass has just been available and it comes with a lot of new things to explore in the video game. It does not come free and there is a catch, for some.

Square Enix has revealed that the Season Pass will be an additional downloadable content and it will be made available through digital purchase as of now. The Season Pass upgrade is free for those who pre-ordered a copy of the “Final Fantasy” Digital Premium Edition via PlayStation Plus for PlayStation 4 users and Xbox Marketplace for Xbox One owners. According to the developer, those who pre-ordered the physical copies of the premium edition will be provided a separate Season Pass that can also be purchased by others and will be made available at a later date. It should be noted that it is not free for those who acquired the Ultimate Collector’s Edition as it was not stated in its list of content.

The “Final Fantasy XV” Season Pass is expected to include a booster pack, a holiday pack, an expansion pack, and new chapters. The new chapters will consists of new episodes for Gladio, Ignis, and Prompto. The expansion pack is said to include a multiplayer mode that will bring players of the game together and will return Gilgamesh, one of the traditional characters in the “Final Fantasy” series. Episode Gladio will enable players to access new areas that were not accessible to players in the first release and this is the chapter where players can find and encounter Gilgamesh.

Square Enix has emphasized that these downloadable updates are not intentionally cut from the game and have been added for players to fully experience the world of “Final Fantasy XV”. The added chapters will still coincide with the main story. Players may or may not avail the Season Pass, which the digital code is sold for only $24.99.

Aside from the upgrades, according to Square Enix, those who pre-ordered premium editions of the said video game will also enjoy exclusive bonuses. This has yet to be clarified whether these bonuses will also be available for others as some news have claimed that it will be released as free update on Dec. 22. Anyway, those who pre-ordered from Xbox Marketplace will get the Masamune weapon, an Angler Set, a Camera Kit, the Platinum Leviathan spray and 16-Bit Buddies for the Regalia recolor, and special avatars that consist of a male and female versions of Noctis’s costume and a Carbuncle pet prop.

Meanwhile, those who acquired their pre-orders through PlayStation Plus will enjoy a bonus package that consists of the Masamune weapon, an Angler Kit, a Camera Kit, the aforementioned new Regalia colors, “Final Fantasy XV” Big Bang Theme, “Final Fantasy XV” Digital Mini Soundtrack, and an exclusive original theme of the video game.
