As the release of the latest 'Star Wars' film, "Rogue One," draws very near, fans of both the trilogy and the video games vicariously live out their adventures with the Force in the latest titles. One reviewer looks at what's on the shelves and says that a special few do deserve their own sequels.

ITechPost bases its recommendations on the level of excitement and fun that the players experience. It also picks those that have a more 'social' factor Meaning, the more friends you get into the game with you, the stronger your adrenaline pumps. And finally, it has the storyline as one of the criteria, especially if the game leaves you hanging because there are other loopholes to tie up and other issues to resolve.

It has on its list "Knights of the Old Republic" "Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" and"'The Force Unleashed/"  Age or the date of the release of the game does not seem to be factor that affected his choice.

"Knights of the Old Republic" was picked because there seems to be dangling plots. The events in the game happened way before Luke blew up the Death Star. The gamer can have a hand in shaping the once uncorrupted Republic before the emergence of the Sith and the rise of Senator Palpatine. If you like your gaming environment a bit more pure, then this nod to nostalgia is for you.

"Jedi Knight" Jedi Academy" gets a nod because it allows the gamer to live out his fantasy of becoming a Jedi Knight and training a successor. Wielding that lightsabre is the key to your winning, and blasters, old-fashioned combat, and shoot-em-ups may classify you as a second-class citizen. ITechPost says that a sequel is called for because the whole set-up of the game makes it a fit for 3D gaming. Imagine transporting the storyline and the challenges into a virtual environment where the gamer actually feels like he's crossing swords with a dangerous Sith.

Finally, "The Force Unleashed" has flexible controls and a broader gameplay that get the gamers into the action. They can choose to pick either side of the battle: dark or light, Jedi or Sith, and that's where the fun begins. A sequel may be needed because this game does not yet determine who wins at the end. The new trilogy has just started. That means armies are being formed, and the tale is far from over.

It will also take time for sequels to these games to happen, if they do happen. Some fans had to wait for "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" to come out. In the meantime, Consequence of Sound names a galaxy of titles to choose from for this season - and with it, its ratings for the best and the worst.
