Last night's episode of The Tonight Show featured Michael Fassbender, Jon Glaser, and Niall Horan. The highlight of the episode was truly when lip sync battle veteran Jimmy Fallon took it up a notch by proposing an air guitar battle with the 'Assassin's Creed' star.

Fassbender first scored mainstream success with his 2008 role in Hunger. This was then followed by a stunning performance in Inglorious Basterds (2009). Fassbender also gave stellar performances in Shame (2011), 12 Years a Slave (2013), Jane Eyre (2011), X-Men: First Class (2011), Prometheus (2012), Fish Tank (2009), A Dangerous Method (2011), and Steve Jobs (2015).

Epic Air Guitar Battle: Fallon vs. Fassbender. Fallon started the battle off with the Thin Lizzy classic The Boys Are Back in Town. He ended off his solo with an air knockout punch to Fassbender.

Fassbender, not to be outdone, started his solo by putting on an air bass. He then proceeded to switch to an air-guitar when the solo came up.

The 39-year-old star played Ozzy Osborne's "Crazy Train". Fassbender was the clear winner, coordinating his head banging perfectly with his air playing.

The pair then ended the segment with a lovely duet. Fallon was on his air guitar and Fassbender was on an air banjo; the two played together in perfect sync to the song.

Assassin's Creed The movie was mostly shot in the town of Almeria, Spain. Fassbender plays Callum Lynch and Aguilar de Nerha, two assassins that are linked together genetically, but who were alive in different eras of history.

The German-born actor decided to book the town as a treat to the crew for their hard work. There, they had a paintball shoot out where Fassbender came out bruised and bloodied.

Fassbender also tried to explain the concept of genetic time travel in the Assassin's Creed franchise. He likened the Animus, the VR machine, as a genetic DeLorean that allows us to access our ancestor's DNA and memories.
